Hermes · Memory Providers
Eight external memory backends. One at a time. Additive to MEMORY.md.
After this videoYou can now pick a memory provider that fits your privacy and budget.
Built-in memory (MEMORY.md + USER.md) is always on. External providers are additive — pick one and you get semantic search, knowledge graphs, or cross-session reasoning on top. hermes memory setup is the interactive picker that handles the install + config. Pick by storage first (local · self-hosted · cloud) and by strength second (dialectic, graph, trust, hands-off, fenced). Profile isolation is automatic.
About these resources. Every command and provider claim in this video comes from the Memory Providers user-guide doc. The built-in Memory doc is referenced as the system providers add to.
